Apprentice Accounts Technician
35 hours per week
Schott House, Astonfields Stafford but with requirements to visit client premises
Purpose of the Job
To assist in keeping the company bookkeeping, payroll and accounts in order. To assist clients with Xero, Unleashed stock and inventory management software and other applications to help with general administration tasks related to client work and assist with general office management tasks.
You will be required to assist the Managing Director with the internal bookkeeping and accounts, using the appropriate software, such as Xero, Hubdoc. ReceiptBank.
You will be required to assist clients with Xero, Unleashed (e.g. set-up, data take-on, integration, support etc.).
You will be required to professionally communicate with clients including electronically (email etc), phone and face-to-face both at the office(s) of Outserve Limited and, as required, at clients’ premises.
You will be required to assist with solving client queries via Zendesk our support ticketing system.
You will be required to assist in keeping a record of staff hours worked, the number of hours spent on projects, Staff Training Plans and other statistics, using project management software, to aid the Managing Director. You will assist in recording and reporting on these statistics via dashboard and reporting tools.
You will be required to assist with the NEST pension and salaries for each employee to ensure prompt and accurate payment.

Take an active role in ensuring that OutserveWeb clients receive outstanding customer care and support by ongoing improvement and regularly taking client feedback.
In the future there may be potential to supervise and/or provide direction to other, sometimes, more junior members of staff, apprentices, work experience participants or volunteers, with responsibility for the quality of work.
General Accountability and Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with appropriate legislation, company policies and procedures.

Ensure compliance with and actively promote Health and Safety at work legislation, Council and Departmental Health & Safety policies and procedures.
Comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (the GDPR), which outlines guidelines on the storage, processing and disclosure of personal data. In addition, all employees of the Outserve Ltd will not disclose or make use of, for their private advantage, any information held on manual or computer records, which are not available to the public, however acquired.
Take responsibility for continuing self-development and participate in training
and development activities. The post holder may be required to vary working times to cover the needs of the business and the duties of other staff as and when required i.e. attending evening meetings, breakfast events, weekend events and covering staff absences. The role is predominantly office based but there will be requirements to attend client sites and other external events. Some homeworking may be possible or required.
The above mentioned duties are neither exclusive nor exhaustive and the post holder may be called upon to carry out such other appropriate duties as may be required by their Line Manager within the grading level of the post and the competence of the post holder.
Requirements and prospects
No previous experience required but any bookkeeping or accounting will be seen as an advantage.
- A good basic level of Maths and English.
- Ideally all candidates will have at least 5 GCSE’s or O Levels at C or above.
- Further and Education is not required but will be taken into consideration.

Training is provided for all staff and consultants are expected to keep up their learning knowledge throughout their employment. A Training Plan will be developed.
