Cloud Updates and Backups Mean a Secure Website for Churchill Taxation

Birmingham based Churchill Taxation specialises in tax advice including for non-domicile private individuals. The award-winning firm, led by Stephanie Churchill, has two WordPress websites for different strands of its business. The company recognised the importance of looking after their sites to keep them working and secure. Stephanie says,

“We were keen to ensure that our websites didn’t break or fall prey to hackers, so we contacted OutserveWeb about their WordPress updates and backup service.”

Before installing the latest WordPress update on the Churchill sites, OutserveWeb backed the sites up. We do this as a matter of course prior to all updates. The reason is that while updating the site plugins, they can sometimes clash with each other and bring the site down. A backup ensures that an earlier version of the site can be restored to keep the site live until the plugins can be fixed. Stephanie says,

“Our sites are our shop window for prospective taxation clients. It is vital to us that they stay live at all times. Having regular backups gives us peace of mind.”

We then updated the two sites. WordPress brings out regular WordPress updates. These fix bugs and security holes in the content management software, which helps prevent the website being maliciously redirected, content being changed or the whole website being taken down completely. Stephanie says,

“Knowing our sites are updated monthly is very reassuring. Thanks to the team at OutserveWeb, we know that they are as secure as they can be.”

We have worked with Churchill Taxation for a few years, having originally helped them to move to the cloud. Stephanie’s team discovered that Office 365 was not syncing properly across the different devices they were using – and it was costing Churchill Taxation money. According to Stephanie,

“I would thoroughly recommend OutserveWeb’s services to any business. They are responsive and proactive and take the time to understand what you need so that they deliver the right solution.”
