The majority of what we do at OutserveWeb involves helping accountants and Financial Advisers put their systems on the cloud. Once on the cloud, we integrate their systems to work in harmony – not only saving our financial service clients time and money, but also helping them to serve their customers even better.

One of our clients is Jamie Donald of award-winning Donald Wealth Management – a wealth management company for a select group of clients, based in Sutton Coldfield in the West Midlands.

The Problem

Jamie had purchased an expensive server for his busy office. He discovered, however, that the server was unreliable, meaning that sometimes at crucial moments in the working day, there was no internet connection or email available.

Both hardware and network support was a drain on Jamie’s cash flow and time. Furthermore, Jamie’s staff had to be in the office, in order to be able to access programmes and information. This made working remotely an impossibility.

The Solution

We then saved Donald Wealth Management thousands of pounds (that would have been spent on a new server), by installing Office 365, which gives access to Office applications enabled over the internet. Office 365 was implemented in conjunction with Prompt PC in Stoke-on-Trent, with whom we have a strategic alliance. Prompt PC provides a support desk, monitoring and providing security for its Office 365 users. Using Office 365 also means that Jamie no longer has to purchase and install the updates for anti-virus and anti-malware software that had always been necessary with his old on-site server. An added benefit was the increase in data security, which as with all financial service companies, is essential for compliance.

In addition, we set up Google Drive, a file storage and synchronisation service, which allows users to store, share and edit files, documents, spreadsheets and presentations on the cloud.

Having access to everything on the cloud means that all Jamie’s team members can now access the same document from any location. Working remotely means the team has become more productive – working whenever and wherever they need to. According to Jamie,

“Not needing to have staff permanently based in the office also gives me access to the best skills around, ensuring our clients get the top quality service they deserve, at all times. Working on the cloud has also freed up a lot of my time, as it has allowed me to work more flexibly and collaboratively with my team.”

More Ways to Work Smarter on the Cloud

Jamie was so impressed with his cloud-based systems that he turned to us for more ways to work smarter.

OutserveWeb now provides Donald Wealth Management with WordPress website support, including security and backup, integration of the company’s MailChimp email marketing with their website, integration of cloud CRM system, Solve, Google Drive, Office 365, Wufoo forms and two-factor authentication for Jamie’s cloud services, which ensures that his client data is ultra secure, helping to comply with the Data Protection Act.
