National Work Life Week – Encourage a Healthy Work-Life Balance

“National Work Life Week is an opportunity for both employers and employees to focus on well-being at work and work-life balance. Employers can use the week to provide activities for staff, and to showcase their flexible working policies and practices.” –


Here at OutserveWeb we are continuously looking for ways to improve flexible work policies and the wellbeing of our staff.

Today is the start of #WorkLifeWeek

Here are a few of the things that we do to ensure our staff have a good work-life balance.


Working in the cloud means that wherever we are, we have access to our important documents and are still able to complete work! For example, Rachel, our Marketing Manager has recently broken her ankle. At first, she couldn’t travel to work. Luckily, she didn’t have to get left behind with her workload as it was all accessible from home until she was ready and able to come back to work!

Furthermore, our IT Technician, Rob, has had trouble getting into work. He too has been able to work from home – with no problems.


We are always encouraging exercise and breaks to make sure that we produce outstanding results for our clients at all times. Occasionally, to help us concentrate we listen to music through headphones. We understand the importance of a good working environment and how it affects both the business along with the staff. We also encourage running – our Managing Director Phil is a passionate runner!


When we are out of the office or when we have finished work, we can set our in-work messaging service to ‘busy’ or ‘offline’ meaning we are not taking work home with us. This is great as it means we are able to switch off from work at home. We can also use it to send messages regarding sudden inspiration, unexpected events and good news.


We support each other both inside and outside of work! Recently our Accounts Assistant Leah took part in a mud run for Cancer Research UK – some of the team attended!


Overall, the importance of a good work-life balance is priceless. It enables you to work far more efficiently and allows you to come in fresh with new ideas!
