QuickStarter in PowerPoint

QuickStarter has been extended for use in PowerPoint. QuickStarter automatically and intelligently creates a starter PowerPoint presentation for you to work from. It handles the outline and design choice of your presentation, allowing you to focus on the content.

You choose the graphic theme from a menu of potential slide templates and click to˜create. It then produces a set of slides on the topic and design you have chosen and all you have to do is fill in the details. To help you further, key facts and related topics are generated and a table of contents is produced.

Excel Get and Transform Features

Excel’s Get and Transform features provide you with fast and easy data gathering and shaping capabilities. They allow you to connect, combine and refine data sources to meet your analysis needs.

The 10 new data transformation and connectivity features were added in December 2016 in response to customer request, and are available as part of an Office 365 subscription. If you have Excel 2010 or 2013, you can download the latest Power Query for Excel.

Editor in Word Online

Editor in Word Online is a new writing assistant to help you produce better documents and convey your message more effectively. It gives you an enhanced proofing and editing service. For example, it will highlight why certain words or phrases in your document might not be the best choice. You can even hear the pronunciation of words. Writing style and word usage is highlighted with a gold dotted line.

Cloud Storage for Office on Android

On 1st December 2016, Office announced that the Cloud Storage Partner Program (CSPP) is now available for Office apps on android devices. This means that you can access and work on your documents wherever they are stored.

Cloud storage options for Office on android include Dropbox, Box, Egnyte and Tencent. Documents stored with these providers can be easily edited and shared, and you can launch PowerPoint, Word and Excel directly from the cloud storage provider’s app to edit your files, with the changes automatically saved back to the cloud.

Office Online Server

The Office Online Server enables organisations still running on-premises servers to provide their users with browser-based versions of Word, PowerPoint, Excel and OneNote from their own data centres. In November 2016, there were several updates to Office Online Server, among which are improvements when working with tables in Word Online and PowerPoint, improved picture resizing in Word Online documents and support for spelling errors in PowerPoint editor.
