Here are some of the latest updates in Shopify for April to help merchants run a smooth end-to-end e-commerce business.
Shopify has introduced Google Pay as a new way for merchants to accept payment in Shopify Payments. Checkout is quicker for customers using Google Pay, as they can instantly access their payment and shipping information already stored in their Google Account. Customers visiting your site via an Android or Chrome device will see a Google Pay button and, using this, purchases can be made in just a few clicks. Activating Google Pay can reduce the number of abandoned carts and will help to increase sales.
Shoppable Instagram Posts
Shoppable Instagram posts are now available in new countries. This means that your international clients can now tag products in their posts. This facility is now available for businesses in the UK, Canada, Australia, France, Germany, Spain, Italy and Brazil.
Shopify Workflow Functionality
Shopify has made changes to the tools and features that merchants and their clients use on a daily basis. These include, allowing merchants to:
- Set a minimum requirement for discount codes based on the quantity of items a customer buys.
- Create orders and send invoices from the Shopify mobile app, (as well as from Shopify Admin).
Shopify POS Updates
Shopify merchants can now apply discount codes online and in person via the Shopify POS system. This can be done on mobile devices and Shopify Admin.
High-volume, high-growth merchants may be using Shopify Plus, which has been updated as follows:
- Tasks can be automated with Shopify Flow
- Workflows can be shared across stores
- Detailed workflow results can be monitored for edit and troubleshoot to improve performance
